The first letter of Paul to the Corinthians. 1. unity--following ministries, creating divisions--God's wisdom superior to human wisdom--God has made Christ our Wisdom: which is righteousness, holiness, and redemption 2. Paul relied on the Spirit--God has revealed the hidden things to the apostles--given only by revelation from God--the natural man cannot receive the things of the Spirit--the apostles have the mind of Christ 3. though the apostles have the mind of Christ, Paul couldn't speak to them about it because of their spiritual immaturity--divisions are a sign of immaturity--apostles are servants, not to be glorified--one foundation, Christ--everyone's work to be tested by fire--you are the temple of God--humility to receive instruction--unity--you are Christ's and Christ is God's 4. apostles are slaves of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God--they know nothing of themselves--apostles are misused--some of you are puffed up--the Kingdom is not in word but in power 5. sin in the church, turn the man over to Satan--separate from immoral believers 6. lawsuits between believers discouraged--your body belongs to the Lord; no place for sexual immorality--sin will keep a Christian out of the Kingdom 7. God's pattern for marriage 8. food offered to idols--don't put temptation in front of a brother 9. God's pattern for apostles (traveling men who have been sent by God and who govern the church universal)--the right to receive a living from the gospel--Paul keeps his body under control lest he be cast away 10. avoiding Israel's mistake of forfeiting liberty--all the Old Testament is for examples to us--with every temptation, God provides a way of escape 11. Christ, the head of every man; the man (husband), the head of the wife; God, the head of Christ--the pattern of the head covering when a woman prays of prophesies--the pattern of the Lord's Supper 12. God speaks through ministries--test the spirit--the nine gifts of the Spirit--the diversity and unity of Christ, the body 13. the tongues of men and the tongues of angels--the nature of love--we see as in a mirror until Christ is complete in us; we know in part now, but we will know as we are known--faith, hope, and love abide 14. spiritual gifts--prophecy--the pattern of the church service: the unknown tongue versus tongues and interpretation, prophecy, revelation, knowledge, doctrine, building up, spiritual gifts operating, singing in the Spirit and with the understanding, women's questions in the service--the authority of the apostles in these matters--all should minister decently and in order 15. the reality of Christ's Resurrection--order of the resurrections--a mystery: we shall not all die but we shall be transfigured 16. instructions and greetings--one more spiritual thing: the tithes and offerings

How can we know anything about anything? That’s the real question |
