Paul's letter to the Philippians. 1. Paul and Timothy writing to the elders/overseers and deacons at Philippi--God will finish the work He has begun in you--suffering to promote the gospel and exalt the Lord--to live is Christ; to die is gain--unity working for the gospel without fear 2. humility--like Christ's humility--God works in you both to will and to do His will, lights in the world--apostles as examples of humility and dedication 3. no confidence in the flesh--the righteousness of God which is through faith--exhortation to know Christ--forget the past; press toward the mark of the high calling in Christ--if any don't see it this way, God can show you--don't walk in the flesh--our whole manner of life is in heaven--our bodies shall be changed to be like His glorious body as He subdues all things into Himself 4. peace with the brethren--peace with the Lord--think on good things whether having plenty or suffering need
